I have been wanting to try a shot like this for a while. Although the weather wasn’t great today I decided to go for it anyway. I think the rain actually adds to the shot.
The shot was taken using a Manfrotto Magic arm and my Nikon D700 with a Sigma 15-30 lens. I pre-focused the lens on the bars and used the camera self timer so I could press the shutter button and get me hands on the bars for the shot. I used the manual mode to set the Aperture and Shutter speed and set the ISO to auto so the camera could compensate without changing the aperture or shutter speed.
Shot processed in Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5.
