Day 221 – Macro Panzi

Another shot from my parents garden. This was taken with my Nikkor 35mm f/2 and a 20mm extension tube. I find this combo works really well for macro shots. The close focus distance of the 35mm is really close anyway and combined with some extension tubes it works a treat.

I find the trick to using this combo is to set the lens to min or infinity focusing distance and then just move back and forward until the desired area is in focus. You can of course maintain your distance from subject and use the focus ring on the lens but I like to move in as close as possible so setting the lens to the minimum focus distance lets me do this quite easily.

Shot details :- ISO 800, 35mm, 0 ev, f/2.8, 1/400
