Week 6/52
I have always wanted to try one of these shots but have been putting it off for ages. Its been a while since I took over the kitchen table with a tabletop studio, so it seemed like a good time to try out the light bulb shot.
This shot is made from two exposures. The first exposure uses the dark field lighting technique to light the glass bulb and the second exposure is a straight forward shot of the light bulb turned on using a high shutter speed to capture the detail of the element. I then combined these two exposures in Photoshop and did a little cleaning up here and there along with some contrast, saturation and masking.
Strobist details :- Nikon SB900 behind bulb and behind black foam core board at 1/4. No lighting used for the bulb element exposure.
Shot 1 details :- ISO 200, 70mm, 0 ev, f/8, 1/250
Shot 2 details :- ISO 200, 70mm, 0 ev, f/8, 1/4000
