Another little shot taken with the macro mode on the Canon PowerShot S95. I’m really beginning to like this little compact camera. Apart from its f/2 lens, its got lots of cool features such as a programable lens ring that by default allows you to control the cameras aperture settings. It also has a separate programmable function button, flash, flash control, exposure compensation, AV, TV and Manual modes and a jog dial with four way control.
The menu system is really easy to navigate and the camera is slim and light enough to camera in a shirt pocket. Its the kind of compact camera that a DSLR shooter would really love for the manual controls and the fast lens. Canon have purposely kept the pixel count down to 10 MP on this camera to control noise and as far as I can see it seems to have worked.
The lighting for todays shot was very straight forward. I placed the chopped strawberry on the kitchen table with some natural daylight coming from the right hand side. I used a sheet of A4 white paper on the left hand side to reflect some of the daylight back into the shaded areas.
Shot details :- ISO 80, 6mm, -0.67 ev, f/8, 1.0s
