Today’s shot would not have happened only for our dog. Thanks Poppy!
Poppy, our dog, was long overdue a walk. So Jack and I decided we would treat her to a nice walk down in the local woodlands. It was a beautiful spring morning, blue skies, fresh air and the sun was shining. The inspiration for todays photo came from the fact that the woods, which isn’t really that big, is in relative terms, huge to my almost three year old son. So I wanted to get a shot that portrayed the idea of everything being so big when you are only very little in comparison.
I held the camera low to the ground and fired off a good few frames. I was looking for a frame which had one of Jack’s boots off the ground to give a sense of movement. I also wanted to include his hands to add to the sense of scale. I used Aperture 3.0 to process the shot with some free presets I downloaded from the Apple Aperture presets page. I think the processing adds a feeling of being lost due to the desaturated colours and higher contrast. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
